2006 Finalist in New Jersey
May 17, 2006
Hampton, New Jersey –
United Bank Card today announced that CEO Jared Isaacman is a Finalist
for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2006 New Jersey program.
Designed to recognize and celebrate outstanding entrepreneurs and
business leaders, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year program
celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
According to Ernst & Young, finalists and awards recipients are chosen
on a regional, national and global level. The New Jersey Entrepreneur Of
The Year program is one of 29 regional U.S. programs. The New Jersey
Finalists were chosen by a panel of independent judges composed of area
business, academic and civic leaders as well as three award recipients
representing the 2005 Entrepreneur Of The Year program. A total of 32
Finalists representing 29 New Jersey companies were announced by Ernst &
Young.
New Jersey Finalists were selected from an initial pool of 177 companies
and represent 12 New Jersey counties. Finalists have demonstrated
excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation,
financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and
communities.
Award winners will be announced at a special 20th anniversary gala event
on June 22nd at The Marriott at Glenpointe in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Jared Isaacman founded United Bank Card 7 years ago at the age of 16. He
has established himself as a driving force for innovation in the payment
processing industry. Under Isaacman’s leadership, United Bank Card has
continually prospered, becoming a premier merchant acquiring
organization. Being nominated for this award is a great accolade for
Isaacman and is reflective of his success and the impact he has had on
the electronic payments industry.
“Being nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year was an
honor by itself, let alone to be selected as a finalist. This type of
recognition is the last thing you expect when running a business and it
is very humbling. I am grateful to Todd Miranda of A.G. Edwards for
nominating me in the first place as well as the entire staff, management
team and the ISO partners of United Bank Card who have built this
business to the point of receiving such acknowledgement”.
All regional award recipients from the 29 U.S. programs are eligible for
consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2006
National program. Award winners in several National categories, as well
as the overall National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award
winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs,
California on November 18, 2006. The overall National Entrepreneur Of
The Year award recipient is then considered for the world event held in
Monte Carlo.
